THROAT is an audio plugin designed to deeply transform a voice, acting not only on pitch but especially on timbre crafting: the source (glottis) and the filter (vocal tract). It is aimed at producers and sound engineers who want to create subtle variations in diction and presence, or conversely design voices impossible to achieve naturally.
It integrates perfectly into contexts of pop, hip-hop, electro, sound design, post-production, video games, or online content production, whenever a unique vocal identity is needed: a more mature or more youthful voice, tighter or more open, breathier, more aggressive, more "close-mic'ed," or totally stylized.
Take control of a vocal tract model and shape it like an instrument: you can stretch, shorten, widen, or narrow the tract globally to shift resonances and achieve precise vocal signatures. This approach goes beyond a simple EQ, as it affects how the voice "resonates" and projects.
The plugin also allows modification of the glottal waveform to influence attack, density, and roughness. Move from a smooth, stable voice to a raspier, tenser, or more harmonically rich performance, while maintaining a sense of realism in moderate transformations.
To refine the sense of proximity and emotion, THROAT adds variable frequency noise allowing you to dose breath and grain. This is ideal for emphasizing a whispered intent, fragility, a more "airy" voice, or conversely slightly dirtying an overly clean take so it fits better in a modern mix.
Raise or lower the pitch of a voice by up to one octave to create creative doubles, character voices, responses, or marked contrasts between verses and choruses. Combined with vocal tract work, transposition becomes a true vocal design tool, not just a pitch effect.
