D16 Drumazon 2 is a virtual instrument dedicated to creating electronic drum patterns typical of techno, house, electro, and any productions where the "909" rhythmic signature is central. It allows you to compose punchy patterns, write detailed grooves, and shape the grain of sounds (kick, snare, hats, toms, rim, clap, cymbals) like on an analog drum machine, while benefiting from modern tools to speed up composition and move faster from idea to a finished beat.
Drumazon 2 emulates all 11 instruments of the iconic machine, with a "true behavior" approach: each voice is treated as a distinct element to preserve the impact, dynamics, and response typical of decades of dance music. The result: crisp transients, solid lows, and piercing highs that cut through the mix while remaining coherent when stacking dense patterns.
The original TR-909 is often described as relatively "dry" without processing. Drumazon 2 addresses this with two integrated effects bus chains offering numerous algorithms. The goal is clear: quickly achieve the right color, from subtle punch to a more pronounced signature, without breaking the creative flow. In practice, this helps the kit "bloom" within a track context and instantly brings the sound closer to a modern mix.
The sequencer is designed to be both simple and inspiring: it facilitates setting up a pattern in seconds while offering advanced options to enrich the groove. You quickly adjust the velocity of accented and non-accented steps, with a global accent boost option to enhance a pattern's energy. To add complexity, each step can host a Flam or various Substep variants with editable properties, ideal for livelier rolls, snappy hats, or more detailed tom fills.
When inspiration strikes, the Tap function lets you record your ideas directly into patterns, then edit them like any sequence. To generate quick variations, the Randomizer can fill a pattern according to your criteria, producing random but usable drum lines that you can refine, save, and reuse. Finally, Drumazon 2 includes factory presets in the form of Scenes, Drum Kits, and Patterns, handy for starting a track, learning programming approaches, or finding a coherent kit in just a few clicks.
Drumazon 2 naturally integrates into a production environment: drag-and-drop MIDI export speeds up moving from the internal sequencer to your DAW tracks (fine editing, layering, doubling with other instruments). You also choose a pattern triggering mode suited to your setup: MIDI notes, MIDI CC, or via the interface, for studio or live use.
