Soliste is a virtual instrument dedicated to solo strings for composing, orchestrating, and producing realistic and lively parts in all styles: film music, trailers, ambient, pop, chanson, organic electro, video games, or classical arrangements. Its physical modeling emphasizes gesture and expressiveness rather than sample triggering: you control the sound like a player, with transitions and nuances that follow your musical intention.
Whether you are looking for a precise violin melody, a warm viola for harmonic support, an emotional and broad cello, or a double bass grounded in the low end, Soliste allows you to build credible, dynamic, and articulated lines while maintaining the flexibility of a modern plugin within your DAW.
Soliste is designed to restore a natural gesture: note holding, impulse, release, and fine variations that make the difference between a "programmed" track and a performance. Micro-irregularities, attack energy, and the sensation of friction contribute to an expressive rendering, ideal for featured solos as well as subtle doubling in a mix.
VLN.356 (Violin): an agile, clear, and bright voice, designed for melodic themes, fast passages, and fine articulations. Its presence facilitates writing solo lines that cut through a dense arrangement.
VLA.419 (Viola): rich and warm, it fills the space between melody and harmony. Perfect for thickening an ensemble, adding a darker color, or creating expressive countermelodies without harshness.
CLO.756 (Cello): deep, resonant, and broad, with powerful dynamics for emotional and cinematic lines. Ideal for lyrical themes, intensity buildups, and expressive playing in the mid-low range.
DBS.1130 (Double Bass): a solid foundation, rich lows, and subtle articulations. It provides support and character, useful both in orchestral writing and modern production where the double bass can replace or complement a synth bass.
Soliste frees you from static instruments by letting you adjust the bow response and the behavior of the vibrato according to your touch. You can calibrate the feel for a soft and controlled interpretation or, conversely, a more edgy and incisive one, depending on the tempo, arrangement, and the solo's place in the mix.
The plugin includes a selection of articulation presets designed to quickly move from idea to take: sul ponticello, sul tasto, pizzicato, Bartok, col legno, as well as short strokes like spiccato, spiccatissimo, staccato, staccatissimo, and martele. Each articulation can then be shaped via synthesis parameters to match your intention (attack, presence, nervousness, softness) and maintain sonic coherence from one passage to another.
Soliste works with MPE-compatible controllers (for example Push 3, Seaboard, LinnStrument) to exploit advanced per-note expressiveness. Settings allow you to adapt sensitivity and response to regain comfortable control, whether you play legato lines, back-and-forth bow gestures, or effects like tremolo controlled on the fly.
Working with a traditional keyboard? Standard MIDI controllers are also supported, with a flexible MIDI mapping table to easily map essential parameters and integrate Soliste into your production and orchestration workflow.
