Novation Bass Station is a virtual instrument designed to create powerful basslines, cutting leads, and electronic textures with a strong character. Its "analogue" DNA makes it an excellent choice for synthesis-oriented styles (electro, techno, house, synthwave, modern pop, drum and bass), whether you're looking for a round and stable bass, a more aggressive acid line, or dense polyphonic sounds that fill the mix without losing definition.
Developed in collaboration with Novation, this plugin captures the spirit of the original machine while extending it: polyphony, unison, and performance-oriented parameters allow you to shift from a "bass" role to a true production synth. The 2-pole or 4-pole filter, with deliberately edgy resonance, delivers expressive sweeps and immediate presence in the low end.
With the X-Modifiers, modulation becomes a playground: X-LFO and X-ADSR provide access to rich movements across many parameters without breaking the workflow. The goal is clear: to achieve evolving and musical sounds, "living" basses with transforming timbres, up to more experimental textures, all while maintaining simple and direct control.
The arpeggiator and sequencer incorporate macro automation to animate patterns, while two programmable macros facilitate real-time variations. Add to that a Pan Spread to widen the stereo image and a complete effects section (High-Pass Filter, Distortion, Chorus, Delay, Reverb): you get a sound ready to record, comfortable both in the studio and live.
