Complete software
Oberheim OB-EZ is a virtual instrument designed for producers and composers who want to quickly integrate a rich, organic analog character into their productions. It excels at wide, majestic textures, deep pads, chords that fill the mix, as well as expressive leads and powerful-grain unison basses. Its "essential and inspiring" approach makes it ideal for quick creation, arranging, live performance, and any situation where a signature sound is sought without getting lost in complex editing.
OB-EZ is not a stripped-down version: it is based on the same sonic DNA as the famous OB-E, with an octaphonic architecture capable of delivering a rare thickness in the world of software synths. The result: wide timbres, natural voice movements, and that "8-voice" sensation that instantly adds dimension.
The philosophy of OB-EZ is simple: give you everything that matters to sculpt the sound in just a few gestures. Adjust cutoff and resonance, shape the ADS envelopes of amp and filter, tweak tuning and portamento, then place everything in space with panning modes. Delay and reverb effects complete the sound straightforwardly, and every modification can be saved to build your own sound bank.
The preset browser speeds up inspiration searching, while the "Vintage knob" adds variations and analog-typical musical instability. MIDI CC Mapping facilitates assignment to your controllers for more expressive playing. OB-EZ also offers several playing modes (mono, poly, legato, unison) to switch from a punchy bassline to a lush pad in an instant. A preset import function from OB-EZ to OB-E is announced via update depending on publisher availability.
