playing live. It suits everything from quick home takes to demanding DAW productions, thanks to a flexible effects chain, realistic amp simulations, and an advanced cabinet section. Its
stereo path also allows processing of other sources (keyboards, vocals, drums) when you seek a creative and precise effects workflow.
Main Features
Next-Generation Routing and Extended Rig
The signal chain with
drag-and-drop simplifies creating complex presets, featuring
custom routing options,
DI signal mixing, and a rig that can host
up to 54 models in the chain, as well as an extended rig supporting
up to 57 simultaneous FX depending on configuration. Proprietary technologies
DSM and
VRM, combined with
Dynamic Response Modeling, enhance realism and feel across the entire chain, with a redesigned power amp section and
impedance matching.
VIR Cabinets, Virtual Mics, and Custom IRs
The Cabinet section features the
VIR (Volumetric Impulse Response) engine that transforms mic'ing with over
143,000 impulse response measurements, including
two movable cabinet mics and
two ambient mics to blend room sound. You can also load your own impulse responses via an
IR loader (up to
2,400 IRs per cabinet), with tools to tilt and resize the IR. On 12-inch models, speakers can be swapped, with
up to 31 speaker models available (and more added via the Custom Shop).
TONEX View and Preset Sharing
AmpliTube 5 X offers a dedicated
TONEX view to browse, filter, and load Tone Models (by Type, Instrument, Character, Favorite, Appearance), then
drag-and-drop them into your chain or load by "Skin". Access to
ToneNET facilitates discovering and sharing free presets, constantly refreshing your sounds.
Mixing, Recording, and Practice
The built-in
mixer allows combining cabinets, mics, and DI, with
23 mixing effects including some derived from T-RackS 5. In standalone mode, the
8-track recorder and practice features (SpeedTrainer, looper, backing track import) provide a complete solution, stage-ready thanks to
live mode and preset switching via
MIDI.
