Complete software
Roland XV-5080 Plug-In is a virtual instrument designed for producers, composers, and sound designers who want an immediately musical PCM synth capable of fitting into all types of sessions. It excels at building complete arrangements (pop, rock, electro, hip-hop, film music), enhancing a production with layers of textures, or recalling the typical "rack" colors of the 2000s without hardware constraints.
Thanks to its extensive sound library and effects, it becomes a highly efficient tool for working quickly: laying down a harmonic base, finding an expressive lead, stacking pads, or dressing a scene with orchestral timbres. It is also well suited for "retro gaming" aesthetics and workstation-inspired productions, where the richness of presets and the impact of attacks make the difference.
Heir to an iconic lineage (continuing the JV series), the XV-5080 has established itself as a reference for its fidelity, versatility, and ability to cover "almost everything": acoustic instruments, synths, basses, pads, percussion, effects, and textures. In its Plug-In version, sound access is instant and preset selection facilitates starting a track, regardless of style.
The plug-in features an editing window designed to speed up programming: separate views allow focusing on key sections (Structure, TVF, TVA, LFO, and other parameters). The result: sculpting a sound faster, with a clear logic to adjust filter, envelopes, and modulation, whether for an evolving pad, a precise pluck, or a more biting bass.
The integrated effects play a central role in the sonic signature: they serve both to add character (grain, movement, depth) and to place the sound in the mix. The chorus + reverb pair quickly creates space, while the multi-effects add color and variation (from simple polish to more marked treatments), very useful for transforming a preset into a personal sound without a complex external chain.
Designed to easily fit into DAWs, the XV-5080 Plug-In is available in common formats, simplifying integration in production and mixing. Another advantage: some compatible hardware synthesizers (like the SYSTEM-8) can map the XV-5080 controls to regain a more "tactile" and performative approach, ideal for recording automations and playing with dynamics in real time.
