Perched on a rocky outcrop on the small Norwegian island of Giske, facing the vast, mercilessly raging North Sea, beneath a night sky tinged with the unpredictable swirling arcs of the Northern Lights, lies the Ocean Sound recording studio, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, like valiant giants frozen in time. In this grandiose setting, we found the ideal conditions to illustrate the raw, rawness of the post-metal sound.
This EZX for EZdrummer 3 features a collection of powerful, earthy, and mercilessly vibrant drums, tailored for atmospheric, slow, and organic metal. It includes four unique kits, two other configurations recorded without snare drums, several additional drum elements, and sets of imposing, dark cymbals. All instruments were sampled by Thomas Hedlund of Cult of Luna, one of the absolute forerunners of today's nascent post-metal scene.
