Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 is a virtual drum instrument designed to produce credible, detailed, and mixable drum tracks, from home studio to professional production. It meets the needs of composers (quick and efficient demos) as well as sound engineers who want to sculpt the sound like in a real session: microphone selection, bleed management, bus processing, and multitrack export for advanced mixing.

The sound foundation is based on meticulously recorded high-end drum samples. The recordings were made in 11.1 surround, resulting in a wide stereo image, realistic spatial feel, and usable ambiences to add depth to a modern mix. Since the sounds are provided without effects, you retain full control over the final tone, from the most natural to the most aggressive.
The library includes 6 kits from renowned brands (Ayotte, Gretsch, Pearl, Premier, Ludwig, and Yamaha), plus additional snare drums, bass drums, and cymbals to create custom configurations. Additionally, you have about 350 electronic drum kits, as well as adjustable percussion and cymbals with natural attack, reverse playback, and pitch envelope, useful for contemporary textures and sound design transitions.
For quick composition, Superior Drummer 3 features a groove sequencer with grid editor, as well as a tempo and time signature editor to adapt patterns to your song's variations. The Tap2Find function speeds up searching: you "tap" a rhythm, and the software suggests similar grooves, streamlining writing and minimizing creative interruptions.
