Essential Information About the "Canvas Volume" Pedal
- 100% Analog Signal controlled by a contactless position sensor and high-performance VCAs: no wear, no friction, no tone loss.
- Ultra-flexible Routing: Mono with dedicated tuner output, Stereo In/Out, or Mono to dual Mono to fit any pedalboard.
- Custom Control under the heel: travel curve (taper), minimum volume, gain up to +9 dB, and "lag" for perfectly smooth swells.
- Built to Last: robust steel/aluminum chassis and consistent performance live and in the studio.
The Tradition of the Volume Pedal, Modernized
"Canvas Volume" reinvents the classic volume pedal by eliminating the weaknesses of string or potentiometer systems. Its signal path remains fully analog to preserve the character of your pickups, while digital position tracking ensures consistent settings night after night. A contemporary approach that solves old problems without sacrificing feel.
For Which Musicians and Uses?
Ideal for guitarists and bassists of all levels seeking a
transparent volume pedal for swells, level balancing, or a
clean boost at the end of the chain. Perfect live for smooth transitions, in the studio for ultra-controlled takes, and on stereo, ambient, pop, rock, worship, or pedal steel pedalboards thanks to the available linear curves.
Features and In-Depth Control
The control panel, discreetly located under the heel, offers two buttons and LEDs to manage four key parameters.
Taper: 8 curves including "Canvas" (ultra-smooth response), plus models inspired by Lehle, Boss, Dunlop, Ernie Ball VP Jr, Hotone, Hilton, and Goodrich.
Minimum On: sets the heel level with attenuation possible down to approximately -90 dB.
Gain: from unity (0 dB) up to +9 dB in 3 dB steps to turn the pedal into a true clean boost.
Lag: response latency from immediate to 2 seconds for silky fades and swells.
Regarding integration, the
mono/stereo routing adapts to all configurations, with a mono mode choice between
tuner output or
dual mono. The utility menu includes
travel calibration,
factory reset, mono mode selection, and
DFU mode for firmware updates via USB-C.
Sound
Thanks to the
analog VCAs and a 20 Hz - 20 kHz bandwidth, "Canvas Volume" remains neutral and musical: no veil, no high-frequency loss, intact dynamics. Non-linear curves favor quick rises to the peak, while linear curves, favored by pedal steel players, offer smooth progression in both directions. Add the "lag" to round off attacks and achieve exemplary fluid swells.
