Where to start?! After research and comparison between the Yamaha Montage 8 keyboard and Roland Fantom 8, then comes the purchase to find a Yamaha Montage 8 or Roland Fantom 8 keyboard, a real hassle, almost everywhere out of stock and you have to wait on order with a waiting list. I initially planned to go for the Yamaha, but not being very patient on this site I see that the Fantom 8 is available (I called before to be sure it is really available). So I go for it, I order. I just received it, already the packaging impresses by its length and weight, plan to be two to take it out of the box. Turning on the keyboard, all the keys light up (a little tear in the eye, it's beautiful). At first, struggled with the sound not coming out of the speakers or the headphones (finally defective adapter), changed the adapter and then "hallelujah" sound. First navigation with the very intuitive screen, just for an instrument e.g. Piano you have submenus for concert sound effects, rock tone, etc., almost fifty just for the piano. First note on the keyboard excellent very good rendering and very pleasant keyboard to the touch, without realizing it spent 3 hours on the keyboard trying a bit of everything distortion of sound etc... It made me forget the Yamaha I initially wanted for the piano sound, but personally I find the Roland piano sound really very good, the organ sound also amazed me. For those who have the possibility to try it in a store near you, do it. It is possible to add additional sounds and there is a version 3.0 update available as well, if you have a bit of extra money ($149, in euros 168 euros) add the n/zyne extension it gives even more sound possibilities, very easy to update, tutorials exist on YouTube even if it's in English very easy to understand by following their steps.
