The TG1 is a reissue of the classic EMI TG12413 limiter used in the mixing and mastering consoles of EMI and Abbey Road studios in the late 60s. The TG was originally designed to "sound" like a Fairchild 660/670 which was the favorite machine of EMI sound engineers including Geoff Emerick (Beatles engineer), but which ultimately had a very particular color and sound. Our version was made from the information and drawing of the original circuits provided by Abbey Road and EMI in order to remake the machine in a way strictly identical to the original. We are to this day the only company to have the authorization to put on our machines the logos of EMI and Abbey Road because we are the only ones to manufacture these machines with specifications identical to the machines of the time. The TG1s have been used on many classic recordings. Indeed, the TG1 limiter was present on every channel of the EMI consoles used for the recording of The Beatles' "Abbey Road," as well as many Pink Floyd albums, including "Dark Side of the Moon," by Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.

The TG1 limiter/compressor features all-discrete electronics with transformer-balanced inputs and outputs. The limiting element is a rarely used system consisting of a diode network. This arrangement produces a very smooth sound accompanied by a very pleasant distortion. The very open and warm sound, often compared to a Fairchild 670, is very noticeable. For those looking for transparency, the TG1 is not the right machine; however, for those looking to beef up and thicken their sound, the TG1 is truly a first choice. All TG1s now come standard with this feature. This allows you to bypass the threshold, thus avoiding compression while maintaining the audio signal's path throughout the TG1's electronics, making the machine a remarkable harmonic distortion generator capable of boosting harmonic distortion by up to 2%. That's twice as much as on analog tape! All this in 100% discrete electronics. How to do it? Adjust the input level to control the THD level, taking care to toggle the switch from the "limit" position to the "THD" position, then adjust the output level. Try entering one channel in the "limit" position, exiting, and then entering the other channel in the "THD" position. You'll see... the sound is simply amazing!

Features:
- Stereo compressor-limiter
- All-analog design
- Equal to the legendary EMI TG12413 limiter
- Transformer-balanced inputs and outputs
- Warm sound, similar to the Fairchild 670
