RCF SUB 705-AS MK3 ACTIVE SUBWOOFER
The SUB 705-AS mk3 is a high-power 15? active subwoofer for live sound applications. It features a sophisticated ceramic magnet driver and a powerful Class D amplifier, delivering sound pressure levels of up to 131 dB SPL, with exceptional dynamic range. Designed as the ideal complement to 10? or 12? speakers, it offers exceptional performance in all applications. The controls are grouped on the rear panel: volume, EQ, polarity and crossover frequency selection. The sturdy all-wooden case, with a scratch-resistant polyurethane coating, makes it durable, easy to transport and allows for secure installation. With its versatility, sound quality and high pressure, the SUB 705-AS MK3 is perfect for small to medium sized rooms and traveling applications.
A legendary subwoofer RCF subwoofers are the preferred choice of many sound engineers, thanks to their very high sound pressure level in the very low frequencies, their smaller dimensions than their competitors, their amplified design, their long-term reliability and their impressive size/weight/SPL level ratio. They will immerse your audience in an immersive and compelling sound experience in live sound and DJ applications.
Power that movesThe improvements made by RCF to its most popular speakers make them more solid and powerful, and amplification naturally accompanies this evolution. With a peak power of 1400 W, the integrated Class D amplifier can generate extreme pressure levels with ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response and very low heating. The design of the sub is very energy efficient, there is no need to use a cooling fan. The amp is attached to a solid aluminum heatsink with no moving parts, located at the rear of the cabinet. The stereo input circuit with its active filter is a new design, ensuring low distortion. An advanced limiter preserves the naturalness of the incoming signal, at all levels. All RCF amps are designed to EN62368-1 for maximum safety, and their switching power supply combines high efficiency with minimal weight.
SUB 7 Series subwoofers can be configured from the rear panel and feature very comprehensive controls:
- 80 Hz/120 Hz CROSSOVER PRESET
- POLARITY REVERSE - OUTPUT SIGNAL, LINE / HIGH PASS
Bass Motion Control In order to extend the bass response and improve performance, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter, replacing it with an innovative approach. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), a new advanced treatment for managing bass driver excursion. The speaker equipped with BMC processing can manage the lowest audible frequencies without affecting the stability of the bass driver, with extended linearity and more faithful rendering. The BMC processing approach relies on the complete mapping of the dynamic behavior of the bass driver, in order to generate a specific algorithm that limits only excessive excursions. It therefore leaves total freedom of signal reproduction to the loudspeaker. Normally used low-cut filters reduce the amount of travel that can damage the bass driver, but they also change the phase response. The new BMC processing allows you to overcome this rule.
A workaholic on tour The subwoofer is suitable for a wide variety of live sound applications. Thanks to its lightness, the sturdy plywood box is easy to transport and stack. All subwoofers are equipped with ergonomic rubber-covered handles for easy assembly and disassembly. The M20 threaded base on the top allows the sub to accommodate speakers with a foot base. The ultra-resistant polyurethane coating, the powder-coated metal grille and the robust structure of the box resist intensive use as well as the stresses of transport. The separate housing for the amplifier ensures the efficiency and reliability of the components. Acoustically transparent foam behind the grille provides protection against dust and humidity. Thanks to its front vents, the subwoofer can also be used in recessed spaces.
