Technical characteristics

Oscillators
Each voice of the One uses three new newly developed triangle analog VCOs. The output of each oscillator is a mixture defined by the triangular / sawtooth wave, as well as by a pulse wave of variable width.. Beyond traditional oscillator designs, the rise / fall time of the triangular wave and the reset phase of the sawtooth wave can be shaped and modulated to create a rich palette of classic analog tones.. Mixing the triangle / saw and pulse waves opens new dimensions to harmonic freedom, creating complex waveforms that are generally not found in analog synthesizers. The One's oscillator section also offers hard-sync, analog ring modulation and FM technology for unlimited analog sound generation.

Dual noise generator source
Each voice of the One includes a dual source of advanced analog noise generator that lets you select and mix different colors of noise, while providing dynamic articulation using the dedicated noise envelope generator. This unique module is a powerful tool for adding percussion, breath or full body impact to a sound.

Mixer
The One offers a flexible analog mixer, offering volume controls and filter routing selections for each oscillator, noise generator, ring modulator, and external audio input. The sound sources can be configured by different filters independently or at the same time.

Ladder and variable state filters
There are two types of analog filters in the One. The first is a newly designed multimode variable state filter that provides exceptional precision and articulation to the instrument. The second is a classic Moog Ladder filter with selectable low pass / high pass behavior. These two filters can process sounds individually or together, in series or in parallel, to access a vibrant spectrum of sounds from classic, obscure and completely new filters.

Low frequency oscillator
One's cyclic movements are generated by 4 wide-range LFOs that can be assigned to almost any destination. Features include MIDI synchronization and clock division, start delay time, number of repetitions per instance, fade in and out times, and much more.

Envelopes
The dynamic shaping of the sound of the One is done via its 3 assignable DAHDSR envelopes (Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain, Release). In addition to the loop, synchronization and time scaling capabilities, the character of each envelope can be sculpted by the user through the use of envelope curves per floor.

Modulation
Easily create modulation assignments from one of One's 4 LFOs and 3 EGs
pressing the corresponding Destination button. The next button touched defines the path and the amount of modulation. For more complex modulation options, the One also uses an internal modulation matrix with visual access to all possible combinations of the synthesizer and controller components of the instrument.

Synth Effects, Master Bus Effects and Eventide Reverbs
The One offers a library of effects programmable by synthesizer and master bus, including chorus, delay, phase, bit reduction, vocoding, as well as a premium reverberation suite from Eventide including Blackhole, Shimmer, Plate, Room and Hall. Effects can be applied in two ways: as synthesis effects and master bus effects. Synthesizer effects are applied to individual timbral layers, while master bus effects can be applied via sends to all three synthesizers. Although its built-in effects are digital, the One retains a fully analog signal path without online conversion when the insert effects are turned off.

Tri-timbrality and Unison mode
Composed of three independently addressable analog polysynths, the tri-timbral design of the One allows you to assign, divide, superimpose or stack voices with a maximum of 48 oscillators in Unison mode. In addition, each synthesizer is equipped with its own step sequencer, arpeggiator and effects processor. Multitimbral synthesis is simplified via the Moog One “Panel Focus” module. If you select a synthesizer for the Panel Panel, the buttons and knobs on the front of the One switch control to that timbre layer. Users can also select multiple layers at once to simultaneously adjust multiple synthesizers.

Keyboard and X / Y key
The One's premium 61-note Fatar TP-8S keyboard, offering velocity and ultimate modification, ensures a balanced and dynamic playing experience for any user. In addition, the pitch and modification wheels in milled aluminum and an X / Y pressure-sensitive touchpad provide a fully assignable medium and continuously variable control.

No more buttons
Almost all modules have a triangular "Plus" button in the upper right corner. When you press "More", the Moog One's LCD screen reveals additional parameters specific to this module, allowing access to advanced features and advanced commands.

Presets and Performance set
A One preset is an autonomous creative environment, which saves the parameter settings for the 3 timbral layers, as well as all their respective sequencer, arpeggiator and modulation settings.. Moog One has the ability to store and recall tens of thousands of presets that can easily be classified, edited, rated and even shared via USB stick. Up to 64 presets can also be loaded into the One's Performance Set module, where they can be instantly selected via a front panel “Bank / Preset” button configuration, essential for live performance and sessions.

User areas
By preserving more than presets, the user space records all global behaviors, MIDI parameters, port and pedal configurations, button behaviors and even the brightness of the lights in your work environment, which is essential for studios and the musicians. Multiple user spaces can be created, saved and recalled - from internal memory or an external USB drive, allowing you to instantly transfer your creative workspaces from one instrument to another.

SNAPSHOTS
When exploring a sound, press the Snapshot button to allow One to easily capture and recall a time-stamped picture of a preset with its current settings, eliminating the need to save data manually while experimenting with new ideas.

Analog and digital connectivity
The rear panel of the One contains 2 assignable pairs of stereo audio outputs, 4 assignable inserts and 2 external audio inputs with support for XLR and 6.35mm inputs. MIDI communication goes through a 5-pin DIN and USB connection, which also offers system backup and restore via USB stick. 9 configurable CV inputs and outputs (with expression and sustain pedal inputs) are also included.

Configurations
The One is available in 8 or 16 voice configurations only. Upgrades from 8 to 16 voice units are not available at this time.
