Raw wood so plan for sanding with fine paper (400 and 600 for example). Finishing advice, once well sanded, that is smooth to the touch after sanding, apply an antique wax, after two hours of setting polish the banding well, you will have a beautiful natural wood finish (or tinted if the wax is tinted) with the best effect, no need to varnish, especially if you don't have a spray gun, because with a brush it's better to abstain to avoid a horrible finish. The finish of the banding is rather good, the joint is quite well finished with no gap, at least on the one I ordered. A good quality-price ratio.
