So why a method on II-V-I? Simply because this cadence is omnipresent in modern music, all styles included, and it is thus necessary for any bassist to master it perfectly. But also because, in its major or minor form, the II-V-I cadence gives the opportunity to work "in situation" on the accompaniment of the different types of essential chords which are the seventh chord (7), the major 7 chord (maj7), the minor 7 chord (m7) and finally the half-diminished chord (m7b5). This method will therefore be ideal for perfecting your knowledge of the bass, but also for developing your creativity and making your lines both rich and melodic (accompaniment with the notes of arpeggios, use of diatonic passing notes, integration of chromatisms, etc.).
