Rounder and warmer than the brand's "Traditional" ones.

Like many musicians, I have tested many combinations (mouthpieces, reeds, strengths...) and the VANDOREN ZZ 2.5 played on BRANCHER T27 metal mouthpiece is a good match.

playing with a Selmer tenor ref 54 passive and a very open Larsen mouthpiece I really like these Vandoren jazz ZZ reeds - I find them less harsh than the V ones, which are also excellent.... I also tried RICO select jazz reeds - Rico royal - and Lavoz with different openings depending on the mouthpieces used, ebonite or metal jazz.. I did the same for the alto and am quite happy, especially since I know an excellent saxophone teacher who is very much a jazzman and he also decided to use this type of reeds.. thanks VANDOREN and the reeds from BORME les mimosas... in the VAR - plus the factory is still in France..
