Description

The 6176 vintage channel strip combines the all-tube, all-tube sounds of Bill Putnam's legendary 610 microphone preamp, and the signature 1176LN FET compression to deliver the ultimate recording console slice.

The soft and warm tone of this microphone preamp model - which everyone has used for his recordings, from Frank Sinatra to Van Halen - and the unique features of the compressor are the two main reasons the 6176 is present in whole world.

Two classics in one
With its simple controls and distinctive sound, the 6176 is the treatment channel of choice for audio engineering luminaries such as Vance Powell and Joe Chiccarelli, as well as artists like Chris Martin of Coldplay, Norah Jones, Wyclef Jean, and James Mercer of the Shins. The ability to separate or chain preamp and compressor sections with a single switch gives the 6176 more flexibility. This is truly the featured UA channel strip, and one of the best in the world.

The 610B - A world-class mic preamp
The 2-610 microphone and instrument preamplifier has received praise from all sides. Michael Cooper, in his article for Mix Magazine, called it "the most multidimensional microphone preamp I've ever heard". Peter Wade, an engineer / producer who has worked with big names ranging from Wyclef Jean to Jennifer Lopez, simply says, "This box rips. The 6176 microphone preamp section takes the quality and character of the 2-610 while adding high-voltage power regulation for better low-end response and a 15 dB attenuation switch on the front panel.
