The HyperGravity Compressor was designed as a "missing link" between the convenience of a compact pedal and the precision of high-end dynamic processing. Its Spectra mode relies on a multiband approach inspired by the studio world: instead of compressing the entire signal uniformly, the pedal processes lows, mids, and highs more appropriately. The result: a more stable level feel, a more controlled attack, and above all, compression that better respects your tone's balance, even with full chords or arpeggiated playing.
For those who prefer more "stompbox" vibes, the Vintage mode offers a more colored, thicker, and more obvious compression, ideal when you want to hear the effect working. And if you want to go even further, the TonePrint mode opens the door to virtually unlimited compression variants, directly tailored to your needs.
The HyperGravity is aimed both at guitarists discovering compression (and finally wanting a consistent clean rhythm) and experienced musicians seeking a refined tool to "anchor" a stage or studio sound. In country, it helps achieve snappy and even attacks; in funk, it enhances the percussive feel and presence; in pop/rock, it stabilizes levels and brings out nuances; in ambient or light pick playing, it provides longer sustain and a comfortable feel under the fingers.
It works very well before overdrives to tame level spikes and make distortion more consistent, or after a drive to control a sound already rich in harmonics (to be balanced with the Blend control to avoid a "squashed" effect). Thanks to its range of settings and TonePrint editing, it is also suitable for bass when you want to keep a solid foundation while avoiding peaks.
Getting started is immediate: a 3-position mini-switch and four potentiometers cover the essentials. The selector allows choosing between Spectra (multiband, very transparent), Vintage (more pronounced compression, "classic" feel), and TonePrint (custom setting loaded via app/editor). The Sustain (compression amount), Attack (reaction speed), Level (output level), and Blend (mix between dry and compressed signals) controls offer an extremely wide palette, from subtle smoothing to heavily emphasized sustain.
For pedalboard integration, the pedal features true bypass and can also be configured for buffered bypass via an internal setting, useful if you use many pedals or long cables. The mini USB connection is used to transfer TonePrints, edit your parameters, and perform updates.
In Spectra mode, the HyperGravity shines with clean, "hi-fi" compression: highs remain open, lows keep their body, and the overall clarity is preserved even on rich chords. This is typically the mode you activate to get that "pro" sound where everything feels more controlled without losing the guitar's personality or right-hand dynamics.
The Vintage mode adds more obvious coloration and a tighter compression feel, perfect for rhythms that need to stay upfront in the mix or for a softer, singing sustain. And with the Blend control, you can dial in parallel compression to keep the natural attack while thickening the note-a very effective approach to avoid pumping and maintain punch.
This versatility makes it a pedal appreciated across very different styles: it is notably used by guitarists such as John Petrucci, Misha Mansoor, Andy Summers, Ben Howard, and Bill Frisell, proving it can serve both modern precision and more organic, expressive approaches.
