Description

Light - 6" x 15 cm

Consisting of a small barrel closed on one side by a skin to which a bamboo rod is attached on the inside, which is rubbed with a damp sponge, producing a deep sound, sometimes hoarse, sometimes high-pitched, imitating the cry of a monkey.

The cuica has become a characteristic instrument of samba schools and carnival groups.
