Developed by the French company Expressive E, Touché adds a physical and organic dimension to synthesis: instead of turning knobs, you literally "play" the parameters. Its wide control range and responsiveness allow adding expressiveness rarely found on traditional controllers, while remaining easy to integrate into an existing setup.
Touché is aimed at both experienced musicians and sound designers seeking a more musical control than simple MIDI automation. In the studio, it excels at animating filters, timbres, and effects in real time, ideal for electro, techno, ambient, synthwave, pop, or sound design. In live performance, it becomes a true expressive instrument to transform a synth line into a performance, with intuitive and reproducible gestures.
Touché offers 4 independent expression movements with force feedback and sensitivity adjustment, allowing precise assignment of each movement to key parameters (cutoff, resonance, wavetable position, FM amount, reverb mix, etc.). To configure communication, the companion software Lié is included with the instrument: it works automatically with Touché and facilitates the creation of MIDI CC messages and CV voltages via a clear interface.
Lié includes a ready-to-play library and provides access to dedicated sounds exploiting Touché's richness. It can also host plug-ins to simplify mapping your virtual instruments and offers configuration presets for many hardware synthesizers to get started quickly. For advanced use, Lié integrates features such as editing sensitivity curves, MIDI speed mapping, adjusting CV output voltage ranges, editing MIDI CC messages, and managing Touché's internal memory.
