The G series pedals are analog recreations of the channels from Revv's Generator 120 amplifier, serving as preamps or "amp-in-a-box" pedals. The v2 series offers circuit revisions based on 10 years of amplifier development and 6 years of pedals for an organic feel. The G4 model, based on the Red channel, delivers a thick high gain with unique fat notes for classic tones and modern rock chords, while enhancing versatility at lower gain settings and midrange clarity.
The G4 features 3 Aggression modes controlled by a central selector. While they can be considered as controlling the amount of distortion (Off = least, Blue = medium, Red = most), these 3 modes significantly alter the pedal's performance. Even in Off mode, the G4 has a respectable amount of crunch, so listen to the change in saturation character between the modes.
