Description

YAMAHA REVSTAR STANDARD RSS02T
Initially launched in 2015, the Revstar range was Yamaha's first series of electric guitars offered in over a decade, drawing on the brand's expertise in lutherie and electric guitar design as well as the engineering and design heritage of Yamaha Motor Co.'s motorcycle division.
The new Revstar series is structured around three levels: Element, Standard, and Professional, handcrafted in Japan. All models feature chambered bodies developed using Yamaha's Acoustic Design process. By utilizing advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambered design to acoustically shape the tones, increase resonance while reducing weight, and promote balance.
All new Revstar models offer unique switching options for greater versatility. The Revstar Element models are equipped with the Dry Switch high-pass filter introduced in the original series. The Revstar Standard and Professional models, available with humbucker pickups or P90-style single coils, feature the Focus Switch, a passive boost function that evokes the sound of overwound pickups, as well as a unique 5-position switching circuit that offers a new approach to classic "in-between" tones.
The new range also introduces a new neck profile across all models, a new variety of race-inspired finishes, and the first left-handed models in the history of the REVSTAR series.

Premium parts and carefully selected materials, combined with ingenuity and craftsmanship reflecting the Japanese engineering ethic focused on detail, ensure this guitar stays true to the Café racer spirit: functionality, character, and style in abundance.

The new Revstar RSS02T is available in 4 café racer-inspired finishes and features an aluminum racing tailpiece, carbon neck reinforcements, and a chambered body – an innovative concept developed through Yamaha's exclusive Acoustic Design process to sculpt the sound, reduce weight, and ensure optimal balance without sacrificing sustain and resonance. The two VP5 P90 single-coil pickups, combined with a 5-position pickup selector and a passive push/pull focus switch, offer uncommon versatility for a two-pickup guitar. Delivered with its deluxe padded gigbag.

Excellent product, perfect compromise with modern lutherie and its vintage (thanks to the P90s). A purchase I would make again without hesitation.

Great guitar for this price. The Indonesian manufacturing has nothing to be ashamed of, it's impeccable, fret installation (often the sensitive point) as well as the overall finish, simply impeccable. The sound is excellent, very clear but be careful it can come out a bit harsh depending on the amp settings. But this guitar rivals models that I have paid much more for. I highly recommend it for clean and crunch sounds (I have the P90 model).
