Description

YAMAHA REVSTAR STANDARD RSS02T
Initially launched in 2015, the Revstar range was Yamaha's first series of electric guitars offered in over a decade, drawing on the brand's expertise in guitar making and electric guitar design, as well as the engineering and design heritage of the Yamaha Motor Co. motorcycle division.
The new Revstar series is structured around three levels: Element, Standard, and Professional, handcrafted in Japan. All models feature chambered bodies developed using Yamaha's Acoustic Design process. By using advanced measurement and modeling tools, Yamaha developed the chambered design to acoustically shape the tones, increase resonance while reducing weight, and promote balance.
All new Revstar models offer unprecedented switching options for greater versatility. The Revstar Element models are equipped with the Dry Switch high-pass filter introduced in the original series. The Revstar Standard and Professional models, available with humbucker pickups or P90-style single coils, feature the Focus Switch, a passive boost function that evokes the sound of overwound pickups, as well as a unique 5-position switching circuit that offers a new approach to classic "in-between" tones.
The new range also introduces a new neck profile for all models, a new variety of race-inspired finishes, and the first-ever left-handed models in the history of the REVSTAR series.

Premium carefully selected parts and materials, combined with ingenuity and craftsmanship reflecting Japanese engineering ethics focused on detail, ensure that this guitar stays true to the Café racer spirit: functionality, character, and style in abundance.

The new Revstar RSS02T is available in 4 café racer style-inspired finishes and features an aluminum racing tailpiece, carbon neck reinforcements, and a chambered body – a unique concept developed according to Yamaha's exclusive Acoustic Design process to sculpt the sound, reduce weight, and ensure optimal balance without sacrificing sustain and resonance. The two VP5 P90 single-coil pickups, combined with a 5-position pickup selector and a passive push/pull focus switch, offer uncommon versatility for a two-pickup guitar. Delivered with its deluxe padded gigbag.

It's a masterstroke from Yamaha. It fully justifies the saying, you should always have a Yamaha in your collection or garage. I discovered this guitar thanks to Chris Buck in "The Cardinal Black." This guitar allows you to fully embrace having an instrument that breaks the standards with its own unique and completely new identity. It has a unique sound, a killer look, it's comfortable almost everywhere, and offers an incredible value for money. I recommend the standard version, which has impeccable finishing quality. You can start on this guitar and keep it throughout your career. The action, set to standard, is a bit high, but you can remove 1mm yourself to be really more comfortable on the neck. The fretboard becomes great after 2 hours of playing. Really, a brilliant and very beautiful guitar.... (Show more)

I had watched quite a few YouTube reviews about this guitar, I went ahead with the purchase and don't regret it at all! You can feel from the first hold that it's a quality guitar, the weight, the look at the finishes immediately give us the tone. The craftsmanship is excellent, the sound is nice, fat, and deep, it's 'close' to a Gibson sound when you strum chords or play gimmicks... In any case, it delights me! Definitely worth getting without hesitation :)
