Description

Essential Information About the DPA 4099 CORE Instrument Microphone (High SPL) 4099-DC-2-199-T

  • "CORE by DPA" Technology for minimized distortion, greater clarity, and detail across the entire dynamic range.

  • Supercardioid Directionality offering high off-axis rejection and excellent gain before feedback on stage.

  • Non-marking Clip Mount, extendable 140 mm gooseneck, shock mount, and robust detachable cables.

  • Flexible Connectivity: MicroDot to XLR via adapter and wireless system compatibility thanks to DPA adapters.

A Modern Standard for Instrument Sound Capture

The 4099 has become a benchmark for capturing acoustic instruments, from piano to strings, woodwinds, brass, or percussion. The "CORE" version raises the bar with a more open sound image and controlled dynamics, whether in the studio, rehearsal, or on large stages. IP58 certified, it withstands the rigors of live performance while preserving the subtlety of timbres.

For Whom and For What Uses?

Designed for musicians, backliners, and sound engineers, the 4099 CORE High SPL adapts to a wide range of instruments and environments. Its dedicated clip secures positioning without damaging the finish, and the gooseneck allows precise and repeatable placements. For drums, very powerful percussion, or trumpet, an Extreme SPL version exists within the same series.

Key Features and CORE Innovations

The "CORE" technology at the heart of the pre-polarized condenser capsule reduces distortion from pianissimo to forte, delivering a natural and detailed sound. The internal shock mount limits handling noise and rumble, while the detachable cables (Ø 1.6 mm or 2.2 mm, Kevlar core) adapt to stage demands. An optional gooseneck extension adds approximately 50% length to reach the "sweet spot" of certain instruments. Available clips and mounts cover most popular instruments, and 4- or 10-microphone kits facilitate equipping ensembles or orchestras.
