It's really great to have a Totalmix FX inside the Dante network! This is truly the key point; there is no other alternative (for now) to manage direct monitoring so effectively. So, in addition to having a Dante interface for your DAW, simple and portable via USB 3, you get a virtual console with highly flexible routing/monitoring. Additionally, another software accompanies Totalmix FX called "Totalmix Remote." It allows remote control with an iPad, a Surface, or any other machine connected to the network. Musicians will appreciate the comfort for setting their mix! Another point: the quality of the "phone" output is really excellent and can also serve as a "line" output without any issues. Practical tip: besides the 4 RJ45 ports that work exactly like a switch (I "plugged" my AM2 into it), there is a 5th internal port that appears on the computer as an Ethernet port dedicated to the PC. So you have access to the Dante Controller without adding another cable, unlike a Rednet PCIe card. Special note: under Cubase, the VST link works very well with other "Dante" PCs, which clearly shows that Totalmix FX is perfectly transparent in the flow. And finally, let's not forget the advantage of having 64 in/out Dante but also 64 in/out MADI! The RME drivers are really solid, that's for sure! Basically, Dante/RME: the best of both worlds!
