The Schecter Hellraiser is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a reliable instrument for stage and studio. Its natural playground ranges from metal (modern, core, thrash) to hard rock, but the coil split and the dynamics of the EMGs also allow exploration of more versatile genres (alternative rock, singing leads, precise rhythms).
The mahogany body provides a warm and substantial foundation, with full lows and generous sustain, ideal for both standard and lower tunings. The maple top (figured maple on the BCH finish) adds attack and definition, useful for maintaining clarity under heavy distortion. On the electronics side, the EMG 81TW bridge and EMG 89 neck pickups, in active configuration, deliver a high output level, very clear response, and excellent mix presence. The split via the push-pull tone control opens access to finer, sharper tones, perfect for arpeggios and less dense rhythms.
To stay true to the original spirit, a set of .010-.046 strings (such as the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 2221 indicated) is perfectly suitable. For transport, the SGR-1C case/bag (sold separately) is the designed option for this model.
