Positive Points:
- Delivery went perfectly with a package in good condition.
- Regarding the Micro after several hours of use, it is robust and quite pleasant to handle, you immediately feel that you are dealing with a professional quality microphone. A pure, clear, and fairly neutral sound, which can be disconcerting for beginners because to get a sound that suits your voice or instrument, you will need to go through good processing.
- The plugins delivered with it are really well made and interesting to use whether in voice capture, instrument recording, or creative work. (If you manage to download them... Hello UA Connect)
Negative Points:
- The first is not really a negative point but worth mentioning. You will definitely need to equip yourself with a FetHead or Cloudfilter type preamp with the microphone. We are dealing with a dynamic microphone with very very low gain, similar to its cousin the Shure Sm7b. With this tool, you will have a much more powerful sound and you will not have to turn up the gain of your audio interface almost to the max to hear something. Essential both for gain boost and for the noise generated by the original microphone pushed to the max.
And finally... Please Universal Audio, you need to do something about your digital supports and allow us to record the serial numbers of our devices calmly. Your applications that work after the 10th security tweak on MacOS, contacting support twice, restarting 5 times, doing 3 backflips and a prayer to avoid error messages... It's quite annoying. I wish you good luck.
Conclusion: A microphone that keeps all its promises and will make the majority happy whether for podcasting or even home studio recording. You just have to be patient and take your time to understand the beast and make all the necessary adjustments for your use as well as to recover the plugins.
I recommend it
