The MultiSwitch Plus fits within Strymon's "pedalboard friendly" philosophy: adding immediate control without complicating your signal chain. It was designed to extend foot control capabilities for several pedals from the brand by utilizing existing functions (presets, tap tempo, looper, special commands) that can sometimes be less accessible during performance. Depending on the connected pedal and selected mode, it becomes a true extension of the interface: you keep your hands on the instrument and control the essentials with your foot, with clear and direct operation.
The MultiSwitch Plus is aimed at guitarists (and more broadly musicians using pedalboards) who use one or more compatible Strymon pedals and want to gain responsiveness on stage, in rehearsal, or in the studio. In live settings, it avoids "dance steps": preset changes, bank navigation, tap tempo, and looper commands become more natural, even between measures.
It is also well suited for modern setups oriented towards rock, pop, worship, ambient, or electronic music, where switching between multiple programmed sounds is frequent. If you like building parts with layers, textures, tempo variations, or clean transitions, this controller offers significantly smoother ergonomics while remaining compact and lightweight on the pedalboard.
The core of the MultiSwitch Plus is its ability to be configured in multiple control modes to extend foot control of compatible Strymon pedals. Thanks to its three outputs, you can connect up to three pedals (using additional TRS cables sold separately) and choose an operation mode adapted to your rig: in-depth control of a single pedal or synchronized control of multiple pedals.
In the "instant access" configuration, the MultiSwitch Plus allows, with certain compatible pedals (for example Compadre, Iridium, Riverside, Sunset, and Volante), direct access to presets 1, 2, and 3. You can also connect up to three pedals and trigger three synchronized presets simultaneously: handy for changing an entire "board" of sounds with a single action.
For preset-oriented pedals like TimeLine, BigSky, and Mobius, the MultiSwitch Plus offers more comfortable navigation: bank exploration (scroll down, up, and browse presets within the current bank), preset recall (scroll then activate), and remote tap tempo depending on the selected mode. This is a real advantage when you want to stay focused on playing while adjusting tempo or quickly calling up a specific sound.
The MultiSwitch Plus can also serve as a "Swiss Army knife" of control: external tap tempo on multiple pedals (BigSky, Deco, DIG, Flint, Mobius, TimeLine, Volante), access to a Favorite function on many models (Brigadier, Compadre, Deco, DIG, El Capistan, Iridium, Flint, Lex, Riverside, Sunset), remote Boost for Riverside, or control of fast rotor speed on Lex. The benefit: adapting the three switches to your real needs rather than being limited to a single control logic.
Finally, for Volante, the MultiSwitch Plus unlocks particularly musical dedicated controls: remote control of the SPEED switch (to instantly change speed and explore layered textures), transport functions (reverse, pause, infinite repeats of delayed sounds), and access to three useful commands in Son sur Son mode (infinite repeats, pause, reverse). For TimeLine, it becomes a true loop controller: direct access to recording and playback functions, and unlocking additional functions such as Reverse, Half Speed, and Undo/Redo, enabling a more performative and experimental approach.
The MultiSwitch Plus does not alter the sound: it adds no coloration or processing, as it is a foot controller. However, it directly influences your musical output by making changes (presets, banks), tempo management (tap), and looper performances more precise, faster, and more natural. The result: cleaner transitions, more confident execution, and better continuity in playing, especially when using programmed delays, reverbs, and modulations.
