Description

ADAM AUDIO A4V MONITORING SPEAKER

Designed for small studios, short listening distances and immersive multi-channel setups, the A4V delivers full, accurate sound in a compact size. This two-way loudspeaker is equipped with the classic X-ART tweeter as well as a 4-inch long-excursion woofer made of the same multi-layer mineral fibers (MLM) as on the other A-Series loudspeakers. based on DSP, make it easy to achieve the ideal sound in your listening space. With a frequency range of 53Hz to 50kHz, the A4V will suit a wide range of audio applications – from podcast production to string quartet mixing. It will also fit perfectly into configurations for immersive sound.

Swivel HPS waveguide & X-ART tweeter

HPS (High-Frequency Propagation System) waveguide technology
high-frequency propagation) of ADAM Audio allows the sound to be projected more homogeneous, wide horizontally but narrower vertically. The A-Series introduces a pivoting HPS waveguide. You can rotate the A-Series tweeters 90 degrees, and still take advantage of HPS waveguide technology, whether you install your speakers vertically or horizontally. The A-Series HPS waveguide is made from a new fiberglass polymer compound, which helps create crisp sound without any unwanted resonance. ADAM Audio's X-ART tweeter sits in the center of the pivoting HPS waveguide. Handcrafted in Germany, the X-ART tweeter delivers precise transient response and reproduces the finest sonic details. This X-ART tweeter is used in each of the A Series loudspeakers to provide precise sound on all models in the range.

Multi-layer mineral fiber woofer

A-Series woofers are made from a specific blend of mineral rock fibers that are fired together to create a lightweight, yet extremely stable material. The mineral composition, stacking and geometry of each cone is specific to the driver used in each model. By combining this material with the new magnet system, the A-Series woofers produce a high output level, with very little distortion, in order to obtain crisp bass.

Hybrid amplification

The A Series combines the best of the digital and analog worlds. The woofers are powered by Class-D amplifiers, which help produce linear performance while reducing distortion. These amplifiers have been chosen specifically for their power and efficiency, both in terms of power consumption and sound reproduction. Less heat dissipation allows for the use of a smaller heatsink, making it easier to invest further in the power and exceptional performance of the A-Series models. The tweeters and midrange drivers are powered by Class AB amplifiers , which reproduce high frequencies in a smooth and natural way. Each amplifier is optimized for its operating range. The result is a finely tuned and correctly aligned speaker. To achieve this, ADAM Audio conducted numerous measurements and listening sessions, testing countless amplifiers and amplifier components.

Electronics with DSP and Room Adaptation

The A Series takes advantage of the scalability of DSP electronics to offer speakers that can be tuned with more precision and are more stable than their purely analog counterparts. With firmware that can be updated via an Ethernet connection, you can expect to incorporate future ADAM Audio advances in DSP, including new features and filter types, as well as additional voicings. On the rear of the A-Series loudspeakers, you will find four bands of equalization dedicated to adapting to the listening space: Bass, Desk, Presence and Treble. Each band is adjustable in steps; this gives you hundreds of options to help you compensate for typical acoustic problems that arise during speaker placement.

Voicings

A voicing is a preset sound profile of the A-Series speakers. On the rear are three distinct options, UNR, Pure and Ext, selectable with a switch. UNR or Uniform Natural Response is a natural and dynamic response curve designed by ADAM Audio and inspired by various historical and legendary ADAM Audio products, including the previous AX series. It is suitable for production and composition, as the presence and charm of its timbre leaves more room for creativity and inspiration. It's also a very good option when you just want to use your speakers to listen to music for fun. Pure is an option that allows you to obtain a very precise and neutral sound. This is the flat setting, ideal for mixing and mastering, when you really need to hear every detail and rely on a faithful representation. The Ext voicing is dedicated to the advanced features offered by the A Control software via the Ethernet connection.

A Control software (Real-time remote control)

The DSP functionality of all A Series studio monitors can be controlled remotely and in real time via Ethernet using A Control software. People who have registered their A Series loudspeakers can download the A Control software for Windows and MacOS for free from their MyADAM space at www.adam-audio.com. Once the software is downloaded and installed, you will be able to control multiple speakers at once, fine-tuning EQ from different listening positions in your studio. You'll be able to control speaker levels remotely while you work, if you're away from a fader or physical interface. Remote control capabilities are especially handy in multipurpose rooms. They ensure that voicing, EQ and other
parameters are set exactly as desired.

Room correction & Sonarworks integration

A-Series loudspeakers are designed to adapt to changing configurations, preferences and environments. Using the A Control software, you can manage advanced filters directly within a platform integrated into the studio monitors, and thus compensate for imperfect acoustics. This integrated platform supports filters from leading company Sonarworks. Using Sonarworks software and a measurement microphone, you can calibrate your speakers to suit a new room, or new preferences.
