With the TYPE MK2 series, HEDD continues the approach that built its reputation: monitors designed to tell the truth, yet capable of adapting to the real constraints of a modern studio. The TYPE 20-L MK2 Black stands as an "all-terrain" solution within the range, ideal when moving between production, editing, mixing, and translation checks, both in stereo and immersive configurations.
The HEDD TYPE 20-L MK2 is aimed at sound engineers, composers, beatmakers, and sound designers who need reliable monitoring across very different styles. Its low end can handle productions rich in sub-bass while maintaining excellent clarity for vocals, guitars, brass, and dialogue. It is also well suited for Atmos workflows thanks to mounting options (sold separately) and tonal coherence designed for multichannel setups.
The Air Motion Transformer tweeter delivers fast and detailed reproduction in the high frequencies, while the 3-way architecture (woofer, dedicated midrange, tweeter) ensures clarity of the mids and separation of elements in dense mixes.
The 32bit SHARC DSP allows activation of the HEDD Lineariser, a zero-phase processing that improves temporal coherence, depth, and precision of the stereo image. To integrate the speaker into your room, you also have a desktop filter (reduces desk reflections) and Hi/Low shelving filters for fine tonal balance adjustment.
The Closed or Ported switch offers a choice between a tighter, more analytical sound (closed) and a more generous bass response (ported). Going further, the bass-extension mode can increase the low end by up to 20%, useful for controlling infra and impact without changing systems.
The TYPE 20-L MK2 is compatible with a Satellite-Subwoofer configuration with linear phase when paired with BASS 08 subwoofers. Features also evolve via the HEDD Access tool (downloadable separately), ensuring the product remains relevant over time.
