The works contained in these volumes are signed by major French composers, some of whom have also written music for educational use: Claude Debussy, Charles Koechlin, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc, Erik Satie, Alexandre Tansman etc. There are also some remarkable pieces, by lesser-known composers, which are waiting to be explored. Each of the five volumes follows a progression of difficulties. In addition to the composers' biographies, there are “Tips for Student and Teacher” which can serve as a lesson plan or guide the student's personal work.
