Description

Squier pays homage to alternative rock godfather and leader of Dinosaur Jr., J Mascis, with an incredible new model of Jazzmaster guitar that produces a sound and performance as impressive as the artist signing the instrument. Pickups, fittings and finish have all been specified by Mascis himself; the result is an instrument with unparalleled sound and quality / price ratio. Received today and not disappointed... I had extensively searched for info on this guitar on the net (test + video) and it's exactly what I was looking for. A super-balanced guitar, super comfortable to play (I love the satin neck), nice jumbo frets... Finish: nothing to complain about (compared to US or Mexican ones, I honestly don't see a big difference)... The look, I love it (in reality, it's less gold for the pickguard... More bronze in real life)... The sound. First, the "jazz" position, excellent: soft, warm, round sound... Ideal to calm the beast... A note on the tone knob, which even when turned all the way up gives a usable sound (and not totally muffled and unusable). The other positions: immediately, it attacks a lot... It crunches quickly while remaining well defined... Big resonance, a thick sound... In short, ideal for rocking out! However, if you're looking for a chiseled sound for metal, the vibrations behind the bridge will dirty your sound (but I like it ;-) !!!)...... (Show more)

Super and superb guitar!!! Shoegaze fans, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and Cure you will find your happiness! But not only... A magnificent clear sound that crunches and is terrifying with a fuzz ;) The different settings allow a multitude of sounds. The pickups are single coils that sound like humbuckers but with the Fender sound not Gibson. Jay Mascis did a good job: pickups, Adjusto-matic bridge (practically mandatory change on all Jazzmaster series because the strings jump), vintage white paint, gold aluminum plate, pickup cover and vintage knobs, satin neck. A very rare quality-price ratio for a Squier, but yes it is indeed a Squier but it looks like a Fender.

bought at Woodbrass (in store) a little over a year ago. A little gem. Pleasant to play, it looks great (well that counts, right?), and that sound... I do surf/garage, it saturates nicely (the tube amp helps), the pickups have a great output level. It's THE sound I wanted. The vibrato, used moderately, doesn't detune the beast. I use it like crazy, so you have to retune quickly once or twice per rehearsal/concert, but I think I'd have the same problem with any guitar. In short, I buy it again with my eyes closed.

Ordered on Thursday morning, received on Friday morning at the pickup point! Beautiful guitar, very comfortable neck, the P90s are a delight for my ears with my Fuzz and tube amp. The vibrato hardly detunes the strings (with moderate use of course!), in short, a Squier that has nothing to envy to a Fender... A superb purchase, I regret nothing!

I bought it during the WB sales practically on a whim (or rather a crush) and frankly I'm not disappointed at all. It has a vintage style and a sound that covers all music styles, the P90s have impressive sustain and the vibrato is delightful. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good compromise between vintage and new.

super instrument well set up, exemplary finishes, not disappointed to have bought this Squier (I am already the happy owner of a Squier J5 Telecaster) and for this second purchase I am clearly amazed. Thanks to Jérémie for taking great care of this order :bravo Woodbrass ... don't change anything!

Congratulations again to woodbrass for their seriousness and speed! As for the guitar, it's a great value for money, it has a stunning look and finally, it arrives relatively well adjusted. Definitely a buy with your eyes closed!!!

It may be marked Squier on this guitar, but certain Jazzmasters much more expensive than it can envy its qualities

First impression: lightness and quality. The guitar is magnificent, the knobs and switches feel very high quality. Coming from a Hohner LP75, the sound seems great with much more sustain and presence at all levels. The variety of possible settings really has a purpose and the range of possible sounds seems huge. The color of the neck on the back side is surprising, almost orange. The matte finish is very pleasant, as is its shape. Surprisingly, the vibrato bar just pushes in, no threading, so it tends to dangle as soon as you use it or even completely fall off if you're not careful. Regarding the original setup, I feel an adjustment would do it good: the action is low but it buzzes a bit. I also tend to push the high E strings outward from the fretboard: maybe it's a side effect of the jumbo frets? Maybe I press too hard. In any case, there is something about this guitar that makes you want to come back to it all the time. And on top of that, it's beeeautiful.... (Show more)
