Description

The MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay features a completely analog audio path for the ultimate in rich, warm delay—made possible only by old-school bucket brigade technology. This design boasts an amazing 600ms of delay time with optional modulation via a top-mounted switch and a simple, three-knob layout that controls Delay time, Mix (dry/wet blend), and Regen (delay repeats)—all in a pedal no bigger than a Phase 90. In addition, two internal trim pots offer user-adjustable width and rate control of the modulation for even more tonal options. The Carbon Copy will take you from crisp “bathroom” slap echoes to epic, Gilmour-esque delays with a twist of a knob. The delay pedal is fundamental for guitarists, used either fully or just subtly, it completely changes the playing and brings additional creativity. Personally, I opted for this one, for its analog sound and its ease of use. I've had it for a few weeks and I must say it's nothing like other pedals I've used. The guitar gains a lot of body, the sound is just perfect, exactly what I wanted. The "mod" button is a plus, it creates a vibrato effect... personally not a big fan, but the effect is of good quality. Other qualities of this pedal are its build (robust, solid) and its size: slightly smaller than a Boss, the (blue) LED is very visible so its use outdoors in full sun is perfectly allowed (however, in a room with low light, it's impossible to properly see the knob degrees). The color? Well... I don't really like it, the glittery green is not really my thing... no matter, it's huge and delivers big. It's better to use it with a proper adapter to avoid unwanted noise. Also don't forget it is True Bypass (true hard bypass exactly... but I hardly see the difference), so when the pedal is off, the sound is not altered at all which is not the case for all pedals at the same price as this one. However, stacking TrueBypass pedals requires buying a boost because the signal can lose intensity. In short, you want a good and faithful Delay pedal? Get this one, the price matches its quality.... Pedal purchased for a jazz playing style, and paired with a Mad Professor Forest Green compression pedal. Superb, perfectly suits the sound I wanted, not complicated for adjustments, quite broad and sufficient for the desired sound palette, no need for a complex device. Beautiful robust build that inspires confidence, and well finished, which probably justifies the somewhat high price. Quality comes at a cost!
