From the planting of the reeds to the flow-pack packaging that protects the reeds from humidity variations, Vandoren controls all the production stages of its famous cane reeds. Hand-cut, the canes are carried on men's backs at the edge of the reed beds. They are then stripped, sun-dried, dried, sawn, bent, shaped, beveled, ... No fewer than fifteen distinct production steps produce a considerable volume of reed waste that is reused as fertilizer for the reed beds or as fuel to heat the factory. Music serving ecology!
