Essential Information About the EKO ST 100 Black Guitar

  • Ready-to-play pack: guitar, amp, gig bag, and essential accessories to start playing immediately.
  • "Type S" spirit: comfortable double cutaway, easy access to the high frets, and ideal ergonomics for beginners.
  • Great versatility: 3 single-coil pickups and a 5-position selector to switch from crisp cleans to more biting overdrives.
  • Modern comfort: bolt-on maple neck with a low C profile, laurel fingerboard, and refined finishes (glossy body, satin neck).

An Iconic Silhouette Revisited by EKO

Inspired by guitars that have shaped history since the 1950s, the ST100 adopts the most appreciated codes: a timeless "Type S" shape, three single-coil pickups, and a classic vibrato block. EKO offers here an entry-level model designed to be accessible, reliable, and enjoyable daily, with simple, effective luthiery and immediate playability.

For Whom and Which Styles?

The EKO ST 100 Black is primarily aimed at beginners and returning guitarists who want a versatile electric guitar without complications. Its HSS configuration is not present here, but the trio of single coils already covers a wide range: pop, rock, funk, blues, crisp clean rhythm parts, and expressive solos with overdrive or distortion. The vibrato also allows adding playing effects (vibrato, subtle dives) to learn and explore.

The Sound

The poplar body provides a balanced and light response, with a sharp attack, ideal for working on rhythmic precision. The bolt-on maple neck enhances the dynamic and articulated character, while the laurel fingerboard offers a pleasant feel and softens the brightness of the maple with a welcome roundness. On the electronics side, the 3 standard Eko single-coil pickups deliver clear, defined, and lively tones: neck pickup for rounder sounds, bridge pickup for attack and presence, middle pickup for balance. The 5-position selector also allows access to intermediate, more scooped and silky combinations, very effective for chords and arpeggios. The independent saddle vibrato facilitates adjustments (action and intonation) string by string, while offering more expressive playing.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

This pack is designed to start playing without additional purchases: gig bag for transport, tuner to stay in tune, strap and stand to play and store safely, capo to explore other keys, plectrums, amplifier, and jack cable to plug in and play immediately.
