Very good method based on the famous Arban but revised and expanded: the first chapters are dedicated to different keys and scale work as well as many other exercises of staccato, legato, vocalises, triple and double tonguing, etc.. each chapter generally ends with two melodic studies and a duet in the key just studied. The rest resembles more the original Arban method: many exercises and technical studies (trills, appoggiaturas, etc..) through 11 chapters. Then, the characteristic studies, the famous 68 duets and a good part of the pieces usually grouped under the title "The Art of Phrasing" are well present. To conclude: as good as the original Arban method but with an approach that I find more pedagogical, more structured, an excellent book to work on your trumpet. Only (a bit) negative point: this method is thick and the binding very rigid, plan for 2 clothespins to keep it open on your music stand.... (Show more)
