A good method to learn even alone. Simple and short pieces to avoid discouragement, quickly approaching some well-known pieces to have a reference, although I would have liked a CD with the authors' pieces to be able to listen to them. The pieces are short enough to quickly review the pieces already seen at the beginning of the work session. It doesn't discourage you in advance from doing some revisions... Nice drawings which don't spoil anything, blank pages at each chapter with empty scores that I use to note the page numbers of the pieces to find them again but which can be used to note music pieces. There is space for a teacher to note pieces and also a line provided on the score so that the student can be accompanied by someone else, which is not bad. I find that a small index of the pieces at the end with their page number wouldn't be too much to look for them on the internet for listening. Moreover, the references of the pieces are not always precise, especially for composers who made several pieces with the same name, even if you recognize them by ear. So I would also have liked a small CD with the worked pieces, especially because I didn't find the pieces created by the authors of the book on the internet (which is, by the way, a very good initiative on their part to share their compositions with us). To nitpick, I would have liked one or two additional short pieces per chapter to get familiar with the learned notion. On the other hand, at the end, there are a certain number of pieces that one is supposed to be able to play at the end of the method. And it's a great motivation because they are numerous and varied. I find that a summary of fingerings with the corresponding staves at the end is really missing. A chapter without the corresponding staves, which is very very annoying (2nd finger at 1/2 tone from the 1st), you have to look for it yourself and it's long. In summary, a good method that could be a little improved in form which is overall super pleasant, airy and well illustrated (I feared a tedious method, it is not the case at all) but nothing to complain about in substance even as a self-taught and knowing nothing, you manage quickly by taking your time.
