Nothing less than a triple sequencer
The architecture of the BeatStep Pro consists of a double melodic sequencer and a rhythm sequencer. Each sequencer has its own CV / Gate outputs and the drum sequencer has one Gate output per instrument. We quickly understand why all users of analog or modular synths use a BeatStep Pro!

When the sequencer becomes the focal point of your system
The BeatStep Pro connects just as easily via the many CV Gates to older analog instruments as it does to your PC or Mac via the USB port. If you also have Midi instruments, that's it! The BeatStep Pro also includes this connection. By allowing the analog and digital worlds to be connected and communicated, BeatStep Pro is establishing itself as the nerve center and "converter" that you absolutely need.

A bloated and yet so simple interface
With its 16 pads, 16 encoders, its transport bar and its control buttons for its 3 sequencers, we could have quickly lost our way. And yet no: from the first contact, its operation becomes obvious and we find ourselves walking over it after a few minutes as easily as experienced users.

The product inspires confidence due to its weight, numerous metal parts, and plastics that also seem solid. The functions are numerous, so of course I expect a relatively long learning phase, but everything seems designed to make the use intuitive and clear. The price at the time of my purchase seems fair (it is 30% lower than the brand's recommended retail price). I wouldn't have said no to a more comprehensive software "bundle", but Ableton Live Lite and Analog Lab Intro suit me well.

Not used much at the moment. BSP is quite a handful. As for Midi Control and its firmware. Also complicated. You have to look for certain parameters. Good product nonetheless. By the way, it can be reset easily..
