The Modal COBALT 8X is a large-format 61-note 8-voice virtual analogue synthesizer, faithfully emulating the powerful sounds of iconic analogue synthesizers from history, while offering incredibly advanced sound design and signal processing capabilities. Building on the design and build quality of its predecessor ARGON8, which operates on wavetable synthesis principles, the COBALT8X is undoubtedly a new benchmark in the analogue modelling synthesizer market.
The power of analogue, the flexibility of digital.
The COBALT8X is a synthesizer utilizing virtual analogue technology, which emulates the warm and powerful tones of vintage synthesizers with their distinctive aesthetic. This digital technology enables musicians to unleash their creativity beyond the limitations of classic analogue synths, exploring new sounds and sonic textures.
More features than its atomic number!
Thanks to its digital emulation technology, the COBALT8 offers an impressive array of features rarely found on a single analogue synthesizer. The list is extensive: true 8-voice polyphony, 64 high-resolution oscillators, two independent oscillator groups with variable waveforms, a morphable 4-pole ladder filter with 4 switchable configurations, 3 independent envelope generators, a real-time step sequencer and 32-step arpeggiator, three stereo effects engines, and numerous memory slots for saving presets and patches. All this at a very reasonable price!
A highly user-friendly interface
The COBALT8 is equipped with the same renowned 61-note FATAR TP/9S keyboard from the Italian manufacturer as its predecessor ARGON8X, ensuring excellent build quality. Velocity-sensitive with aftertouch, this keyboard is your ideal playing companion. The interface includes 29 endless encoders and 24 buttons, as well as a 4-axis joystick assignable to numerous modulation parameters. USB connectivity allows real-time visualization of filter, LFO, and envelope parameters on the keyboard with impressive clarity.
