The Pearly Gates set from his highly coveted 1959 Les Paul® has been a favorite among P.A.F. purists for decades. But according to him, some guitars in his collection would benefit from a slightly higher output level to deliver the sound he loves.
This demand for a more powerful pickup gave birth to the Hades Gates humbucker: an interpretation of Billy's typical sound, featuring a winding that favors an even more aggressive tone. The Alnico 2 magnets and this additional power make it easier to saturate the amp, which then delivers warm, crunchy, and bluesy sounds to perfection.
The Hades Gates are handmade in Santa Barbara, California, with a 4-conductor output cable.
