Original contemporary work in five movements, for two groups of musicians without instruments. In the middle will stand the conductor, back to the audience, like a referee and an officiant. The movements follow one another without interruption.
All emitted sounds will be "full" and homogeneous. Thus, one must prepare individually and collectively to develop this sound quality. There is no singing in this work. The notes on the staves describe the relative intonations of a spoken language, or the different modes of vocal, percussive, or gestural playing. The silences will be inhabited by a concentrated, attentive attitude. As if, at times, the Moon were speaking.
In the Touch movement, each performer strikes their own body at the places indicated on the score. In Taste, the musicians favor mouth, tongue, and swallowing noises. The onomatopoeias of the text must be interpreted in this sense. Look is largely silent; the musicians behave individually like mimes or silent film actors, exaggerating gestures and attitudes. In Smell, the musicians favor breathing noises, breaths, and airy sounds. The onomatopoeias of the text must be interpreted in this sense. In Listen, the musicians will individually adopt stage play showing the audience a concern and tension of listening towards the flies, in the direction of the Moon, constantly listening and looking upwards on the stage. It is also a "potpourri," recapitulating previous playing modes.
