Limited Edition 1964 L-Series Stratocaster Heavy Relic
Serial Number: L11805 Weight: 3480g In 2024, the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster, the Fender Custom Shop introduces a model that captures the tone and feel of a particularly iconic and sought-after era: the Limited Edition 1964 L-Series Stratocaster. Its two-piece select alder body features a Heavy Relic nitro lacquer finish, authentically recreating the look and feel of a well-played mid-’60s Strat with decades of road wear. The quartersawn maple neck has a comfortable 1963-style "C" profile, topped with a round-laminated AAA rosewood fingerboard, compound vintage radius (7.25" to 9.5"), 21 medium vintage frets (47095), and a bone nut. The classic tone of the ’64 Strat is delivered through a trio of Custom Shop Hand-Wound '64 Strat pickups, with a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup for hum cancellation in positions 2 and 4. The electronics include a 5-way switch and a Vintage Modified #2 wiring with a Tone-Saver treble-bleed circuit that preserves clarity when rolling back the volume.
