Description

Essential Information About the Behringer MONOPOLY Synthesizer

  • True analog signal path inspired by the legendary Mono/Poly, delivering thick basses and sharp leads
  • 4 versatile VCOs with mono, duo, unison modes with chord memory, and 4-voice polyphonic play
  • Built-in arpeggiator, sync and cross-modulation for instantly evolving textures
  • Comprehensive MIDI/USB/CV-Trigger connectivity for studio, live, and modular integration

A Modern Heir to an 80s Classic

The Behringer MONOPOLY pays tribute to an eighties icon, famous for its four oscillators and signature synth-pop tones. By translating this architecture into a contemporary chassis, it retains the warmth and responsiveness of analog while offering modern reliability and ergonomics, ready for both stage and studio.

Who Is It For, and What For?

Ideal for producers of electro, synthwave, techno, italo, new wave, or ambient music, the MONOPOLY suits both motivated beginners and seasoned musicians. Its quick learning curve and clear panel encourage sonic experimentation, whether sculpting massive basses, singing leads, moving pads, or hypnotic live sequences.

Features and Innovations

At the heart of the MONOPOLY, four VCOs deliver triangle, sawtooth, and pulse (PWM) waves with octave selection, fine tuning, and individual level control per oscillator. Monophonic, duophonic, unison with chord memory, and 4-voice polyphonic modes multiply playing approaches. Oscillator sync and cross-modulation add aggressiveness, rich harmonics, and metallic effects, while a noise generator expands the percussive palette.

The resonant low-pass filter with keyboard tracking defines character, supported by two ADSR envelopes dedicated to the VCF and VCA for precise articulation. For modulation, a main LFO offers four waveforms (triangle, square, ramp up/down) assignable via the modulation wheel, and a second LFO controls pulse width for organic timbres. The 37-key velocity-sensitive keyboard, pitch and modulation wheels, and syncable arpeggiator foster expressive playing and immediate patterns. Generous connectivity-audio, MIDI In/Out/Thru, USB-B, CV/Trigger-ensures smooth integration with your DAW as well as modular setups.

This synth is a beast! I didn't know the original released in 1982, but judging by the VST version produced by Korg, this Beringher synthesizer seems very faithful in terms of sound. Then, on the hardware side, it breathes quality and solidity. Really a beautiful piece next to other machines. The handling is very simple and intuitive. I'm happy with my purchase!

The BIG sound! A magnificent synthesizer, easy to handle for someone a bit familiar with subtractive synthesis. Pure joy; this analog synth brings a very powerful bass richness that complements well my other digital or hybrid synths.
