With the Erebus, Dreadbox brings back one of its most distinctive analog synthesizers. This version retains the DNA of the Erebus V1 and keeps what made it famous: a harmonically rich sound, a filter with strong character, and a semi-modular approach that invites both playing and experimenting. Compact and USB-powered, it is aimed at musicians who want a true analog personality without sacrificing the flexibility of a Eurorack format.
The Dreadbox Erebus is designed for experienced musicians as well as curious users already comfortable with the basics of subtractive synthesis. It particularly shines in techno, electro, ambient, synthwave, and sound design, thanks to its fast modulations, punchy envelopes, and Lo-Fi delay that instantly thickens the signal. In the studio, it delivers organic basses, biting leads, and evolving pads; live, its patch section and direct controls encourage spontaneous variations.
Fully analog and paraphonic, the Erebus combines 2 oscillators each with 2 waveforms, featuring Hard Sync and separate glide controls to sculpt more or less fluid attacks. The signal then passes through a pre-boosted 2-pole low-pass filter, ideal for achieving singing resonances and musical saturation. On the dynamics side, there is 1 ADSR envelope and an AR amplifier envelope (noted to be livelier than the V1's), paired with a VCA OTA for a sharp and expressive response. A wide-range LFO completes the modulation arsenal, while the Lo-Fi delay effect adds depth and controlled instability, perfect for expanding the sound and creating an "ethereal" space. With 18 patch points, it behaves like a true semi-modular module: you can reroute modulations, interconnect your Eurorack system, and radically transform the timbre with just a few cables.
