Description

Revival of a Classic
The 70s were a blessed time, with bell-bottom pants, chains, and afro hairstyles dominating fashion, and the phaser was everywhere on the radio. From guitarists like David Gilmour, Brian May, and Eddie Van Halen to keyboardists like Steely Dan, Herbie Hancock, Richard Tee (Paul Simon), everyone incorporated the phaser into their sound.

Of all the pedals available at that time, one phaser pedal stood out from the others for its versatility, quality, and the addition of a fuzz circuit, and it was immediately adopted by funk bass pioneer Larry Graham as a key element of his sound with Sly and The Family Stone and his own band Graham Central Station.

The Warm Audio Jet Phaser is an authentic recreation of this pedal, faithful down to the look of the casing, except that it is True Bypass and much more affordable and reliable than the vintage version!

The Jet Set
The Jet Phaser has six modes, with two named PHASE and four named JET. The two PHASE modes produce the traditional phaser effect, the first having a more moderate depth for subtler sounds, and the second for more exaggerated results.

The similarities with a normal phaser pedal end there. The four JET modes activate the Jet (or Fuzz) effect, and this is where things get serious.

There are four fuzz/phase combinations:
- Bright fuzz / Shallow phase
- Bright fuzz / Deep phase
- Dark fuzz / Shallow phase
- Dark fuzz / Deep phase

When the JET mode is active, the pedal’s output level is controlled by the JET LEVEL knob. This allows using the JET mode as a boost – which can be perfect for solos!

Creative Controls
The Jet Phaser also features a modulation speed control: the SLOW RATE knob adjusts the main modulation speed, and by pressing the FAST/SLOW button, the speed increases up to the maximum possible. The transition between slow and fast is gradual like a Leslie cabinet; by continuously pressing the FAST/SLOW button, as organists do, you can achieve a speed between the two. Additionally, the Jet Phaser has a RESONANCE control, active in all six modes, allowing for sci-fi sounds.

The Jet Phaser operates in True Bypass for easy integration into a setup, and the fact that it runs on 18V increases dynamics and sound quality (it can be powered with the included 18V DC adapter or two 9V batteries).
