VL21 Lanen Violin & Alto

A whole new range of microphone instruments for the sound recording, on stage, of all your acoustic instruments.

The great disparity of size of the violins and altos imposed a most adaptable support possible, which is why we designed these two flexible clamps.
We have chosen to use an omnidirectional capsule for several reasons: Cardioid capsules and their supports can hinder musicians and are aesthetically questionable (especially in the image).
Moreover, what is lost in the rejection of ambient sound by directivity is compensated by the proximity of the cell, which is under the strings, all against the instrument table.
clamp (s) and XLR pound adapter with the microphone for wired use (48V ghost power required). This microphone is also used in UHF version: to be connected to the DSP - UHF BodyPack Instrument (specially adapted to the impedance of cell 21 Lanen).

The support provided with the VL21 violin microphone (a rubber piece that attaches to the base of the strings) amplifies the tapping of the fingers on the fingerboard (unwanted noise). So I reused the support from my old microphone (clip attached after the chinrest, fortunately compatible). Otherwise, the microphone produces a perfectly acceptable sound.
