The compact benchmark of the iD series, upgraded

Designed for demanding creators, the iD14 MKII modernizes Audient's DNA in a robust and elegant desktop format. This "MKII" revision improves converter accuracy, strengthens the headphone amplifier, and adopts USB-C/USB 3.0 connectivity for fast and reliable workstation integration. You get the Audient console heritage sound signature, with more headroom and clarity in everyday use.

Who is it for and what are the uses?

Ideal for home studios, mobile producers, podcasters, guitarists, and content creators, the iD14 MKII offers professional capture without complexity. Its two mic/line inputs cover vocals, instruments, and stereo recordings, while ADAT allows quick expansion to more ambitious multi-mic sessions (drums, acoustic ensembles).

Features and workflow

Audient preamps and precision conversion

The two Class-A console preamps deliver generous 58 dB gain with extremely low THD+N for clean and detailed recordings. The converters ensure faithful listening to nuances, with 121 dB dynamic range in A/D and up to 126 dB in D/A for more confident mixing decisions.

Flexible monitoring and powerful headphones

Four line outputs allow powering two pairs of speakers or external devices. Monitoring is facilitated by dedicated mute, mix, and pan controls for the return. The headphone amplifier has its own D/A converter and supports headphones up to 600 ohms, via 6.3 mm jack or 3.5 mm mini-jack.

JFET input inspired by a tube stage

The front panel instrument input, rich in harmonics, is the perfect base for guitar/bass amp simulations and clean DI recordings with a natural playing feel.

A studio that grows with you

The TOSLINK optical input compatible with ADAT and S/PDIF adds up to eight additional channels. From demos to full sessions, the iD14 MKII adapts to your needs without changing interfaces.

Smart control

The large knob with ScrollControl integrates with your DAW to control key parameters and speed up daily workflow.

I have the mk1 and mk2 versions at home and was able to compare them solely regarding the audio output to the speakers. I heard big differences in sound. With the mk2 version, the instruments stand out better from the sound spectrum, there is more spatialization, and you can distinctly hear each track. Whereas with the mk1 version, it's a bit messy and everything blends together. One thing that surprises me with the mk2 is that you can really hear all the instruments played even at very low volume, and when you turn up the sound, there is no difference in hearing the highs, mids, or lows better. It's even strange because with the mk1, if I wanted to hear a sound better, I would increase the volume, but no longer needed. Even when listening to music on Spotify, you can hear that the mk2 brings out the instruments and details more. On the other hand, it's less pleasant to listen to music with the mk2 because you hear all the flaws of commercial music, but it reassures that our own music isn't that bad after all lol.... Very satisfied with my Audient iD14, the build quality is reassuring, the software and the customizable iD button offer a great experience. The only thing that bothers me a bit is the reset of the monitor and headphone output levels when the computer starts up, which go back to 0 and must be readjusted manually without the possibility of saving, but this is made easier by the indicator lights, so it's not a big issue.

Hello, Honestly, for the price, it's top-notch! I have no regrets about buying it. I have a Komplete Audio 6 MK2 (€209 at the time), which I've had since 2019 and sometimes has minor dropouts. It's served its time. I still keep it for travel. A small regret, no power supply, too bad... Thanks Woodbrass! Delivery was great. ;-)
