During an interview with Claire Malroux, her translator, I discovered the "Quatrains" she had just translated. I was struck by the coincidence between the brief form of these poems and my own conception of form, also brief and concise, leaving no room for development.
This piece is also structured in "quatrains": "To wait Eternity," "With Death to be," "Auroral Light," and "This is Immensity."
Finally, the work is part of the "Temptations" cycle by the Ensemble Musicatreize.
Emily Dickinson's, "poet of the threshold, at the crossroads of the visible and the invisible," as Claire Malroux points out, lies in this waiting for eternity in which her life is consumed:
"The prospect, beyond the Tomb / Of seeing her Countenance / Supports me like imperial Drops / Administered daily."
