In the lineage of Arius digital pianos, the YDP-145 continues the idea of an elegant, easy-to-use, and inspiring home instrument. Positioned at the heart of the range, it emphasizes piano sound quality and realistic touch without unnecessary complexity, to support long-term learning and daily playing enjoyment.

Keyboard Design

The YDP-145 features a Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) 88-key keyboard with a weighted touch that is heavier in the bass and lighter in the treble, similar to an acoustic piano. The velocity sensitivity accurately reflects your nuances, while the 3-pedal unit includes a half-pedal effect on the Sustain pedal for subtle control of note sustains and decays.

Sound Quality

The sound engine is based on sampling the Yamaha CFX grand piano, delivering sparkling highs and deep lows. The Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) simulates sympathetic resonances of the soundboard and strings for enhanced realism. The system is enriched by the 2 x 8 W amplification and Tone Escapement design, which projects sound naturally towards the listener. With a 192-note polyphony, your chords and fast passages remain perfectly audible.

This digital piano is very good and very pretty. It looks modern. However, it lacks entertaining sounds (because the violins and organs are so-so!) but the 3 piano sounds are satisfactory. I hesitated for a long time between the 145 and the 165 because the 2 x 8W scared me, but it's fine. The sound is very clean. I set the volume between 3/4 and max and with the pedal that makes it resonate, it's quite loud (I had a vintage piano with candle holders before, so I'm used to quite a bit of noise!). Nevertheless, I still note that sometimes a note I pressed is not heard, which is very annoying! (On the piano, you sometimes play notes very quickly so everything should respond quickly too!) I would have liked the notes to be lighter in terms of touch because for me, you need a certain pressure on the keys compared to an acoustic piano. It's also a pity that you can only record on one track. If you want to record again, it erases the first recording (so it records over it). But it's a good instrument, you can go for it!... Good quality piano. Beautiful sound. Just a shame about the visible wire between the keyboard and the cover. Not very intuitive to use because you have to touch the keys to change the sound and others. You need to have the appropriate phone or tablet to install the app that allows settings, in which case it is more practical.
